Job summary

Alarm.com is building a team in Krakow. Software Engineer II will design, implement, test, and deploy scalable video-domain software in a fast-growing IoT company.

You’ll own features end-to-end, work with C#/NET on the backend and Ember/React on the frontend, and apply AI-assisted development tools to deliver robust solutions. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience, strong OO skills, and a background in SQL databases with test coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong OO programming skills; C#/.NET experience preferred.
• Experience with Ember or React frontend frameworks.
• Experience with SQL databases and writing performant queries.
• Experience creating and maintaining unit tests.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership end-to-end from design to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain high-quality C#/.NET back-end code for the Video domain and customer-facing UIs.
• Own features end-to-end from ambiguity to design, implementation, testing and release.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews; provide constructive feedback.
• Debug across environments and deliver durable fixes.
• Use AI-assisted development tools as part of the workflow and validate AI-generated code.

In this role, your work will be centered on the Video domain, designing and delivering robust, scalable software solutions that make homes smarter, safer, and more efficient through intelligent video monitoring. You will have the opportunity to shape how millions of users experience video, enhancing existing capabilities while pushing the boundaries of what intelligent monitoring can do.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write and maintain high-quality C#/.NET back-end code across the Video domain—including device lifecycle management and device-based features—along with the customer-facing web UIs built on top of it.
• Own features end-to-end, taking them from ambiguous requirements through design, implementation, testing, release, and production support, and seeking out information and context as needed to deliver good outcomes.
• Exercise good judgment. Know when to work quickly, and when to build a robust solution.
• Participate actively in design discussions and code reviews, both receiving feedback and providing thoughtful, constructive review on peers' work.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues across environments, applying reasoning to identify root causes and deliver durable fixes.
• Use AI-assisted development tools as a consistent part of your engineering workflow.
• Validate AI-generated code rigorously before it reaches production: review for correctness, edge cases, security implications, and long-term maintainability.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong object-oriented programming skills; professional C#/.NET experience preferred
• Experience with a modern front-end framework such as Ember or React
• Experience with SQL databases, including DML operations, stored procedures, and writing performant queries through indexing and batching
• Experience with creating and maintaining unit tests
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work end-to-end, from design through delivery

NICE TO HAVES

• Familiarity with microservices architecture
• Familiarity with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or messaging technologies
• Experience working with IoT and hardware
• Experience with observability, logging, error handling, and monitoring in production systems
• Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into a professional engineering workflow
