Overview

We are looking for Sr Backend Engineers to join our team. You will join a team of highly qualified engineers to continue the innovation and development of our product, which uses Machine Learning & Big Data technologies to analyze content from several data sources. The backend is built using technologies such as Redis, Postgres and Cassandra, with APIs developed in Python and Ruby on Rails. The role includes DevOps tasks from server setup to maintenance and recovery. You will work directly under the Engineering Manager in an agile environment. We expect you to be fast learners to adapt these technologies quickly. Lucidya offers a result-driven, fun, and dynamic environment full of challenges. Responsibilities

• Rapidly develop next-generation scalable, flexible, and high-performance systems
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software (backend and databases in particular)
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
• DevOps tasks
• Contribute to the growth of Lucidya through interviewing, onboarding, or other recruitment efforts

Qualifications

• BA/BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of experience
• Strong knowledge in SQL and NoSQL databases such as Redis, Postgres, or Cassandra
• Fluency in Python and Ruby on Rails
• Knowledge of web servers and web application servers (e.g., Apache, Jetty, Tomcat, IIS)
• Knowledge of code repositories like Git
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and tight timelines
• Database design skills
• High-quality, well-structured code
• Excellent organizational, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
• Full-stack experience with a background in ReactJS is a plus
