Job summary

Upside is an applied AI engineering and consultancy firm that builds software for scaling organizations, with a focus on healthcare and life sciences. The role is for a software engineer who combines production-grade backend design, client-facing consulting, and product thinking to scale systems intelligently.

You will own architectural decisions, work with Python and other major backend languages, and ship LLM-powered features in collaboration with client teams.

Qualifications

• University degree in CS/SE is required or highly valued.
• Experience shipping production backend systems and APIs.
• Fluency in English (C1+) for client collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Work with client teams to design backend architectures and deliverables.
• Own delivery from design to production, ensuring quality and security.
• Review implementations, design tests and runtime checks for edge cases.
• Document architectural decisions for human and AI contributors.
• Collaborate with clients and maintainables of open-source frameworks.
