Job summary

Akamai Technologies GmbH in Kraków is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to engage in the complete project lifecycle. You will work on enhancing the security of Akamai Control Center and Cloud Manager while gaining exposure to senior leadership through Fireside Chats.

The ideal candidate holds a qualification in Computer Science and has experience in full-stack development and Python. This flexible internship program starts in January with a commitment of 20–30 hours weekly.

Intern Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for:

• Engaging in every phase of the project lifecycle, from design and development to deployment, QA support, and post-release resolution.
• Translating UI designs into pixel‑perfect front‑end implementations.
• Managing and interacting with relational and non‑relational databases.
• Implementing security best practices and maintaining familiarity with core internet protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS/SSL).
• Leveraging Docker, version control systems, and shell scripting to support development, automation, and system reliability.
• Solving complex technical problems through design and development, while collaborating within a multi‑disciplinary engineering team.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Hold a first‑level qualification in Computer Science from an accredited academic institution.
• Demonstrate expertise developing and maintaining comprehensive web applications with extensive full‑stack development experience.
• Demonstrate practical backend development expertise using Python, with Flask and FastAPI, knowledge of RESTful API principles, databases, and Docker.
• Leverage version control systems, shell scripting, and collaborative practices while showcasing enthusiasm for learning technologies and contributing within teams.
