Job summary

LanceSoft Europe is seeking an experienced Software Engineer - Expert to join a Scrum team in Krakow or Gdansk on a hybrid basis. You will be a leading contributor to one or more IMS modules, drive design and performance improvements, and ensure high delivery quality.

We require 6–10 years of professional software engineering with hands-on Java, React, SQL, and experience across the full lifecycle. Strong communication is essential; C#/Winforms and tools like Dynatrace or SolarWinds are a plus.

Job Title: Software Engineer - Expert

Location: Krakow (OR) Gdansk, Poland (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 months contract (MUST HAVE Own Laptop)

Job Description

• Leading technical contributor to the enhancement and maintenance of one or more IMS modules or components of an agile scrum team.
• Systems Design, Performance Testing experience, Experience working with Build tools like Gradle and SCM tools like GitHub.
• Must Haves: Java, Portfolio management, derivatives, risk models, risk management. , SQL. Technology - Java, React, SQL.
• Good communication skills are a must
• Nice to have - C#/Winforms. Experience with Optimizers like Axioma and Risk optimization is a big plus.
• Also good to have experience with tools like Dynatrace, Solarwinds.
• Data modeling and database performance troubleshooting experience is a plus.
• Good understanding of best coding practices, object oriented design, and prior experience navigating complex code base.
• Prior experience with performance troubleshooting on the database and application layer are a plus
• 6-10 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience.

Responsibilities:

• Work under minimal supervision to analyze, design, develop, test, and debug small to large software enhancements and solutions within business and technical problem domains, with strong ownership of delivery quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to turn business requirements of moderate complexity into working and sustainable software.
• Participate in the design of product architecture within the team’s scope of responsibility, contributing to scalable, supportable, and sustainable technical solutions.
• Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications, and services using Java, C#, SQL, React, or other related software engineering technologies.
• Provide thoughtful insight and suggestions in code reviews.
• Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high-quality product.
• Mentor junior developers and help establish engineering best practices across the team.
• Conduct manual tests to ensure a high-quality product.
• Contribute to written design and API documentation and participate in the customer documentation process.
• Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the CRD scrum methodology, including attending daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Participate in cross-team group activities to complete assignments.

Required Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on development experience with Java, React, SQL and related software engineering technologies, with the ability to deliver sustainable solutions with minimal supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Good understanding of Algorithms/data structures, OO Design and SOLID principles
• Able to work well with peers in a collaborative team environment.
