Cisco dCloud is hiring a Software Architect for the Demo Platform & Automation. You will design and implement scalable solutions across the dCloud platform, coding in Go and Python, and collaborating with UI and content teams to ship demo environments that run reliably on Kubernetes.

You will influence architecture, establish standards, and build APIs/libraries used by multiple teams. The role emphasizes AI-assisted automation and secure, scalable demos for a global customer base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years designing distributed systems across on-premises datacenters and public cloud (e.g., AWS).
• Production development experience in Go and Python.

YOUR IMPACT

Design solutions across the dCloud platform, then build, run and support them yourself. Shape technical direction as an individual contributor, influencing five partner teams through your designs, code and reviews. Build the libraries and APIs content developers use to ship reliable demos faster. Create MCP servers and catalog chatbots that make demos easier to find and run. You'll succeed when demos start reliably, new ones ship faster and AI agents can run our automation!

What You'll Do

Spend about 45% of your time coding services, SDKs and libraries in Go and Python on Kubernetes, and building micro-frontends with AI tools in partnership with the UI team. Spend 25% on architecture: write design documents, review designs and set engineering standards. Use the rest to keep your systems reliable and secure (15%) and to plan work with partner teams and content developers (15%).

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience) and 10+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years designing distributed systems across on-premises datacenters and public cloud (e.g., AWS)
• Production development experience in Go and Python
• Experience running containerized services on Kubernetes (e.g., EKS) with GitOps (Argo CD, Helm), CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code
• Experience designing APIs, SDKs or libraries used by other teams
• Professional experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building LLM applications such as MCP servers, AI agents, RAG pipelines or chatbots
• Architecture-level understanding of React micro-frontends
• Understanding of compute, network and storage virtualization (e.g., VMware, Nutanix), and comfort discussing VLANs, VXLAN, trunking and route aggregation
• Experience with Java or Kotlin, and with GCP or Azure
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and to explain designs clearly to technical and business audiences
