A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent permanent, temporary or locum Social Care Worker appointments within the Deerpark Services may be made over the next 6 months.
Location:
Deerpark Services provides community based day, respite and residential services to adults with varying support needs based on personal outcome measures. Our focus is to form a relationship/partnership with each individual and their family to support people to be valued citizens in their local community and to have ordinary life experiences. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and to have the chance to form real friendships.
The Role:
The Social Care Worker will report to the Team Leader and will fulfil a key role in providing a safe, secure environment where individuals will participate in community and leisure activities, make choices and enjoy a lifestyle that fulfil their potential and expectations with opportunities for new experiences. We are looking for individuals with experience working with people with complex needs including autism, mental health issues and behaviours that challenge. Candidates need to be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individual’s they support on a daily basis.

The recognised professional qualifications for social care are as follows:
HETAC/NQAI BA Degree in Applied Social Care Studies/Social Care
Open Training College (HETAC) accredited BA in Applied Social Studies (Disability)
Successful candidate must be registered with or eligible to register with CORU by November
2025.
A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads and use of your own car is an essential requirement.
Good IT skills and a knowledge of the organisations IT system is essential.
Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
Experience:
Experience of working with people with an intellectual disability is desirable. Experience of
working with individuals with challenging behaviour/ mental health diagnosis and/or autism is

Working Hours:
78 hours per fortnight based on a 7 day duty roster involving working sleepovers, split shifts, night duty, public holidays and weekend work. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide quality service delivery for each individual.
22 days per annum
Remuneration:
Department of Health Social Care Worker pay scale as per the consolidated salary scale dated 01st March 2025 - € 39,951 x 10 increments - € 55,049 (max) per annum. LSI €56,089 per annum is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.
Permanent full-time and pensionable
A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion
