Job summary

Activision is seeking a Senior VFX Artist (Gameplay) to join the art team in Warsaw. You will create and adapt effects that enhance gameplay and cinematics, contributing to the studio's new IP with a focus on inclusivity, respect, and collaboration.

You will work on believable VFX, prototypes, and optimization across platforms, collaborating with designers and the broader VFX/Tech Art teams to push quality forward.

Qualifications

• Proven experience (8+ years) in realtime VFX.
• Excellent understanding of VFX for physically based rendering and lighting.
• Impressive portfolio of realistic visual effects showing detail.
• Ability to adapt to in-house tools and evolving tech stack.
• Knowledge of scripting through code or node-based systems.
• Experience with standard art software like Photoshop, Substance Designer, Maya.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Gameplay and Combat Design teams and propose solutions for VFX feedback.
• Author believable, striking visual effects with a realistic style per Art Direction.
• Highlight gameplay features through VFX timing to give satisfying player feedback.
• Contribute to storytelling through visual VFX and world-building.
• Collaborate with VFX/Tech Art teams, suggest tech improvements and pipelines.
• Create quick prototypes and placeholder test effects as conversation starters.
• Provide constructive feedback on VFX assets with internal teams and partners.
• Optimize VFX assets within budgets and platform constraints.
• Organize asset libraries and textures for reuse across assets to improve performance.
