Position Overview:

The Senior VAT Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of VAT compliance, reporting, and advisory within the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of VAT regulations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure accurate and timely VAT filings.

Responsibilities
  • The role involves accounting, reporting, and requirement analysis for VAT and Intrastat, which are core functions of a Senior VAT Accountant.

  • Conducting sample audits of invoices, including VAT classification, is a specialized task that falls under VAT compliance and reporting.

  • Providing guidance to the regional finance community on VAT and Intrastat matters demonstrates leadership and advisory capacity.

  • Supporting VAT audits aligns with ensuring compliance with tax regulations, a key responsibility of a Senior VAT Accountant.

  • Recommending and implementing efficient strategies reflects the strategic and analytical mindset expected at a senior level.

  • Supporting team members and contributing to Record-to-Report (RTR) projects highlights the collaborative and cross-functional nature of the role.

Qualifications
  • The requirement of 5-6+ years of accounting/finance experience, with a focus on VAT and Intrastat, is consistent with senior-level expertise.

  • A degree in Finance & Banking or Economics is a standard qualification for this role.

  • Advanced Excel proficiency and familiarity with SAP are technical skills required

  • Strong English communication skills are essential for collaborating with regional teams and stakeholders.

  • Analytical skills and a meticulous approach to reporting are critical for ensuring accuracy in VAT compliance.

  • The emphasis on being a self-starter and taking initiative reflects the autonomy and leadership expected at this level.
