Job summary

Nearform is a Poland-based team of data & AI experts delivering AI-enabled solutions and digital products for leading enterprises. This Senior Test Engineer role focuses on embedding testing across the software lifecycle, building automated front-end, backend, and API tests, and driving quality in collaborative, distributed teams.

You will work with Cypress, Playwright, Mocha, and Chai to ensure functional, performance and security testing, supporting CI/CD processes, and helping scale testing

Qualifications

• Senior Test Engineer with at least 6 years of commercial experience.
• Experience delivering in an agile environment.
• Experience developing automation testing frameworks for scalable software solutions.
• Deep knowledge of automation testing frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, Mocha, and Chai.
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript
• Deep understanding of versioning control tools - e.g. Git.
• Practical and real world experience working with databases and cloud environments.
• Practical experience creating test strategies for large-scale, enterprise applications
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with others in the development team to integrate testing and a quality assurance mindset into the software development lifecycle.
• Define and implement structured testing practices, including automated and manual testing strategies.
• Experience with Python/Pytest and/ or JavaScript/Cypress
• Develop and maintain automated front-end, backend, and API test frameworks using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, and Chai.
• Perform functional, non-functional, performance, and security testing.
• Ensure test processes are integrated into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality assurance.
• Optimise testing for scalability, speed, and efficiency.
• Working with and supporting Technical Leaders in project execution and timely delivery.
• Collaborating with client teams.

About The Senior Test Engineer Role

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions. You will work closely as part of the development team throughout the software lifecycle, embedding testing into every step of the process. However as you’ll likely work on a variety of projects your responsibilities may also include:

What We Are Looking For In This Person

• Significant experience delivering at a Senior Test Engineer level. Our Seniors typically have at least 6 years’ commercial experience.
• Practical experience of delivering in an agile environment.
• Practical experience and knowledge of developing automation testing frameworks for scalable software solutions.
• Deep knowledge of automation testing frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, Mocha, and Chai.
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript
• Deep understanding of versioning control tools - e.g. Git.
• Practical and real world experience working with databases and cloud environments.
• Practical experience creating test strategies for large-scale, enterprise applications

Our Interview Process

• Talent Call (30 mins via Zoom) An introductory conversation with a member of our Talent Team to learn more about your background, experience, and career goals. We'll also provide a high-level overview of Nearform and answer any questions you may have. This step helps us assess initial alignment.
• Technical Assessment (1 hour via Zoom) A live coding challenge with one of our trained interviewers. You'll be asked to build a working solution to a problem via screen sharing, demonstrating your Cypress or Playwright expertise, problem-solving ability, and QA best practices in a real-time environment.
• Hiring Manager Interview (45 mins via Zoom) A conversation with a Hiring Manager focused on your approach to teamwork, client collaboration, and problem-solving in an enterprise development setting. We'll also share more details about Nearform and the potential projects you may join.

There may also be an additional interview with the client depending on the project.
