Job summary

GlobalLogic Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Platform Infrastructure Team to own kernel rebasing, QEMU tuning, and security hardware integration for ARM compute nodes.

You will work on Linux kernel builds, QEMU integration, and bare-metal bring-up on ARM hardware. The role requires deep kernel expertise, ARM64 internals, and mastery of C/assembly, with hands-on experience in cross-compilation, debugging, and TPM integration.

Qualifications

• Education & experience: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus heavy experience in kernel and low-level systems engineering.
• Deep Linux kernel (v6.x) and ARM64 internals experience.
• Proficiency in C, assembly, and low-level OS integrations.
• Extensive experience with KVM and QEMU (ARM-on-ARM nested virtualization) and TPM 2.0 / vTPM.
• Hands-on with cross-compilation toolchains, GDB, JTAG, trace tools, and bare-metal lab bring-up.

Responsibilities

• Configure, patch, and build the Linux kernel and QEMU for ARM hardware security and performance.
• Migrate and rebase existing patches from x86 to ARM Debian builds.
• Implement and test TPM 2.0 measured boot and vTPM integrations.
• Set up cross-compilation build pipelines (MBS / Jenkins) for building QEMU, Linux, and kernel modules.
• Debug complex hardware-software integration issues on ARM bare-metal lab machines.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Infrastructure Team. The team is responsible for low-level operating systems, virtualization hypervisors, and custom Linux kernel builds powering our global cloud fleet. You will take ownership of kernel rebasing, QEMU tuning, and security hardware integration to bring up our new bare-metal ARM compute nodes.

Requirements

• Education & experience: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus heavy experience in kernel and low-level systems engineering.
• Kernel Expertise: Deep engineering background working with the Linux kernel (v6.x) and ARM64 architecture internals.
• System Programming: Mastery of C, assembly, and low-level OS integrations.
• Virtualization & Security: Deep experience with KVM and QEMU (specifically ARM-on-ARM nested virtualization), plus TPM 2.0 / vTPM integration.
• Debugging & Tools: Hands-on experience with cross-compilation toolchains, low-level debuggers (GDB, JTAG, trace tools), and bare-metal lab host bring-up.

Job responsibilities

• Debug complex hardware-software integration issues directly on physical ARM bare-metal lab machines.
