Job summary

Spektrum is seeking an experienced Storage and Backup Engineer to design, administer and optimize enterprise storage and backup environments, delivering high availability and robust recovery capabilities. You will work under the Team Lead, Infrastructure Operations, and collaborate with other support teams to drive improvements and meet service levels.

The role emphasizes automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, Terraform), proactive problem solving, and detailed documentation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT experience in storage and backup in complex environments.
• Hands-on administration of block and file storage across major vendors.
• Experience with backup solutions like Avamar, Data Domain, and Veeam.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
• Knowledge of networking basics and SAN fabrics.
• Scripting and automation experience (Python, Ansible).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement storage and backup architectures.
• Administer storage arrays, SAN fabrics, and backup platforms.
• Plan upgrades, migrations, and test deployments with rollback procedures.
• Monitor health and performance; resolve bottlenecks.
• Provide Tier 3 support and lead root-cause analysis.
• Develop automation tools for provisioning, monitoring, reporting.
