Job summary

Corning Inc. in Poland (Stryków) seeks a Senior Procurement Specialist to drive regional and global Direct Materials sourcing for OFC cables and fiber manufacturing. You will coordinate with plant, regional teams and GSM EMEA to implement sourcing strategies and NPC objectives.

The role requires collaboration with Sourcing Managers and material planners, ensuring NPC, supplier OTD and data integrity across SAP and ERP systems. Travel up to 10% domestically/internationally.

Qualifications

• Engineering or related degree required.
• Minimum of 2 years in Strategic Sourcing or Supply Chain.
• Minimum 1 year in manufacturing industry.
• Very good command of English.
• Knowledge of SAP R/3 and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Co-lead Packaging and Resin category with GSM EMEA leads.
• Lead NPC calculation and reporting process.
• Maintain Purchasing data in SAP (Info Records, Source Lists, Vendor Master).
• Collect and report data on supplier performance, NPC, spend.
• Improve data quality in ERP and GSM databases to drive value.
• Lead material sampling orders for Engineering and Sourcing teams.
• Negotiate sourcing conditions and Master Supply Agreements, including eAuctions.
• Represent GSM in cross-functional project teams and ensure IP compliance.

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose:

This positionshall support the execution of regional and global sourcing strategies forDirect Materials,forOFC´scableand fibermanufacturing plants inPoland(Strykow,Mszczonow).

TheSeniorSpecialistcooperateswith multiple functions on the plant level, regional level and in GSM, among themwith Sourcing Managers for various Direct Material categories and the material planners on the plant levels.

The position reports directly to theManager,OFC EMEAProcurementand is part of the Global Supply Managementnetwork.

Responsibilities:

• Co-lead the Packaging and Resin category withthe respective (corporate)GSM EMEACategory leads
• Lead the process for NPC calculation and reporting
• MaintainPurchasing data forallDirect materials in SAP (Purchasing Info Records,Source Lists,Vendor Master Data) based on the input of Sourcing Managersand own analysis
• Collect,analyzeand reportdata forsupplier performance, NPC,spend
• Steadily improve sourcing-relevantdata quality in ERP and GSM databases to drive strategic value
• Identifymaterial-related synergiesforNPCand supplier consolidationwithCable and Fiber plantsin other regions
• Lead and/or support theissue resolutionon supply shortages, quality issues, payments
• Lead material sample ordering process (in supportofEngineering teams and Sourcing Managers)
• Negotiate sourcing conditionsandMaster Supply Agreements, incl. eAuctions
• RepresentGSMincross-functional Project teams, e.g. for compliance
• Control over the IP-compliance(ORMsuppliers underNDA)
• Support in planning processes (e.g. Blackbook)
• Advocate the use of sophisticated digital tools

Requirements

• AcademicDegree inEngineering,Technology, Supply Chain,Business Administrationor alike
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing and/or Supply Chain
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing industry
• Very good command of English language
• Very good knowledge of SAP R/3, MS Office software
• High ability to self-manage and prioritise tasks
• Understands the importance and value of open communication and sharing of information
• Understanding of Supplier Cost Structures
• Legal knowledge and contract negotiation skills considered a plus
• Category expertise for Raw Materials considered as a plus
