Job summary

Corning is seeking an IT professional to support a manufacturing plant and local IT team. You will help maintain applications, assist MES, and troubleshoot IT systems while collaborating across departments.

Qualifications include IT education, strong English/Polish, and knowledge of databases, networks, and cybersecurity. Desirable: experience with SAP, Windows Server, and BI tools. Benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Responsibilities

• Daily support for the manufacturing plant alongside the local IT department.

• Support for MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
• Analyse and troubleshoot IT system errors.
• Resolve issues related to devices and applications in IT areas.
• Create technical documentation and IT procedures.
• Participate in projects.

The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily support for the manufacturing plant along with the local IT department.
• Maintenance and development of applications supporting manufacturing systems.
• Support for MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
• Analysis and troubleshooting of errors occurring in IT systems.
• Resolving current issues related to devices and applications in IT areas.
• Providing services in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
• Seeking improvements to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness.
• Creating technical documentation and IT procedures.
• Participation in projects.

Requirements

• Higher education in Information Technology (or related fields).
• Very good command of English and Polish, both spoken and written.
• Knowledge in various selected IT fields such as databases, networks, operating systems, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence.
• Analytical thinking skills.
• Ability to identify and solve problems, as well as to work effectively in a team.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the SAP system.
• Knowledge of MS Windows Server.
• Understanding of MS Business Intelligence and MS Power BI.
• Knowledge of MS SQL Server.
• Experience in project management.
• Object programming in C# or Java.
