Job summary

Kraken is seeking a React Native Engineer to join our Business Services’ Support Center. You’ll build mobile experiences with React Native and TypeScript across Kraken products, owning initiatives end-to-end—from requirements through release and iteration.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Design and engineering teams to deliver high-quality, performant mobile features, including in-product messaging, chat, content and voice capabilities. Strong English communication required.

Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world’s longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients.

We’re looking for a React Native Engineer to join our Business Services organisation, contributing to Support Center, a cross-functional team responsible for support-related experiences across Kraken’s products. The team builds and maintains the ways clients access help, including in-product support, chat, content and voice-based functionality across web and mobile applications.

Rather than owning one standalone product, Support Center contributes across multiple Kraken teams. You’ll work with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders to understand their requirements, align on the right solution and deliver high-quality mobile functionality that meets each product’s performance, architecture and UX standards.

The opportunity

• Develop and maintain high-quality mobile experiences using React Native and TypeScript across multiple Kraken products


• Own initiatives end to end, from clarifying requirements and aligning stakeholders through implementation, release and post-launch iteration


• Build support-related functionality such as in-product messaging, chat experiences, content, banners, modals and voice-call capabilities


• Adapt your approach to the needs of each product, whether the priority is performance, design precision, reliability or maintainability


• Work across Product, Design, mobile, web and backend teams to bring the right people together, resolve ambiguity and drive initiatives forward


• Write clean, well-tested code and participate actively in technical design discussions, code reviews and mobile release processes


• Contribute to real-time experiences using APIs and WebSockets, including Kraken-built alternatives to third-party support tooling


• Help improve shared architecture, components and development practices across Support Center’s web and mobile contributions

What You Bring

• 5+ years of software development experience, including hands-on experience building and shipping mobile applications with React Native


• Strong working knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, together with experience using React and modern frontend development practices


• Demonstrated ability to own projects or mobile releases from initial requirements through production delivery


• Excellent organisation skills, with a structured approach to managing priorities, dependencies and cross-functional stakeholders


• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clarify ambiguous problems and build alignment


• A collaborative, low-ego mindset and the flexibility to contribute effectively within products and codebases owned by other teams


• Experience working with APIs, frontend testing, mobile performance and modern build and deployment pipelines


• Sound technical judgement and attention to detail, with a consistent focus on quality, reliability and getting work completed

Nice to haves

• Experience with native iOS or Android development using Swift or Kotlin


• Familiarity with Node.js or experience contributing beyond the frontend into backend systems


• Experience building real-time functionality using WebSockets, live messaging or asynchronous architectures


• Familiarity with customer-support platforms or customer-experience tooling and APIs


• Experience owning iOS and Android build, deployment and release processes


• Working knowledge of Rust, Go or C++


• Experience working across multiple products or teams within a large technology organisation


• Previous experience in crypto, fintech, consumer finance or another highly regulated product environment
