Job summary

541 Cisco Systems Poland sp. Z o.o. in Kraków is seeking a Senior Engineer to shape architectural decisions and build scalable metadata services as part of the MDC team within Cisco's Data Fabric strategy.

You will own end-to-end feature delivery, collaborate on system architecture, optimize for scale and low latency, and lead quality, testing, and on-call ownership. Mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in computer science or related field + 6+ years of related experience, or Master's + 3+ years of related experience.
• Strong hands-on proficiency in an object-oriented or systems language (Go, Java, or C++) with production-grade services.
• Cloud-native microservices using AWS, Azure, or GCP, with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Distributed systems foundations: algorithms, data structures, concurrency, RESTful/gRPC design.
• CI/CD and Agile environments with automated testing and deployments.
• Reliability & performance: diagnosing bottlenecks and ensuring high availability.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Feature Delivery: own development and implementation of complex, high-impact features and microservices within the MDC platform.
• Collaborate on System Architecture: translate product requirements into modular, scalable, and resilient components.
• Build for Scale & High Performance: optimize low-latency applications for large-scale graph relationships and data lineage queries.
• Drive Quality & Engineering Excellence: author comprehensive tests to ensure high product reliability.
• Operational & Production Ownership: ownership of services in production-monitoring, on-call rotations, and post-incident reviews.
• Technical Mentorship & Collaboration: mentor junior engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
