AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to define an agentic-first approach to software development. You will design agentic workflows using Java, Spring Boot, React, and AI orchestration patterns, ensuring security, reliability, and auditability for enterprise customers.

You will mentor engineers, build production-ready agentic solutions, and collaborate with product and engineering leaders to connect capabilities to meaningful outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software product development or equivalent
• Proficiency with Java and Spring Boot
• Proficiency with JavaScript and React
• Proficiency with Relational Databases
• Hands-on with AI agents, tool-using workflows, or orchestrated patterns
• Experience with multi-agent systems, RAG, vector search, agent evaluation, or human-in-the-loop workflows
• Ability to guide AI coding agents with clear context, constraints, and direction
• Strong ability to review, test, secure, and improve agent-generated code
• Ability to decompose work into agent-ready tasks while preserving architecture
• Experience creating agent-driven workflows with tool calls, state management, and failure handling
• Senior-level experience building and operating production software systems
• Experience using agents to support coding, code review, testing, release, or incident response
• Experience with TypeScript

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic workflows coordinating tools, services, data, and human approvals
• Develop reusable patterns for agent orchestration, tool use, context management, memory, and multi-agent collaboration
• Use agentic coding tools throughout planning, implementation, testing, debugging, refactoring, code review, and documentation
• Integrate agents into software development, testing, deployment, support, and operations
• Establish standards for agent evaluation, observability, reliability, security, and governance
• Prototype new agentic capabilities and productionize successful experiments
• Build complete, usable products—not just demonstrations or isolated model integrations
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity and product delivery through agentic development
• Mentor engineers and shape an agentic-first technical strategy

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help define an agentic-first approach to software development. This person designs agentic workflows using Java, Spring Boot, React, and AI orchestration patterns, turning successful experiments into production systems. Strong judgment around security, reliability, and auditability matters for enterprise customers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Design and build agentic workflows that coordinate tools, services, data, and human approvals.

• Use agentic coding tools throughout the development lifecycle, including planning, implementation, testing, debugging, refactoring, code review, and documentation.

MUST HAVES

• 5+ years of experience in a software product development environment.
• Strong proficiency with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript and React.
• Strong proficiency with Relational Databases.
• Hands-on experience building AI agents, tool-using LLM applications, or orchestrated workflows.
• Experience with multi-agent systems, RAG, vector search, agent evaluation, or human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI coding agents as productive engineering collaborators across an application codebase.
• Ability to provide agents with clear context, constraints, architecture, acceptance criteria, and technical direction.
• Strong judgment in reviewing, testing, securing, and improving agent-generated code rather than accepting outputs without verification.
• Ability to decompose complex application work into agent-ready tasks while maintaining architectural consistency and product intent.
• Experience creating workflows in which agents can reason, select tools, call APIs, manage state, recover from failures, and elevate to people when appropriate.
• Senior-level experience building and operating production software systems.
• Experience using agents to support coding, code review, testing, release management, or incident response.
• Experience with TypeScript.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with RESTful APIs.
• Experience with infrastructure on AWS.
• Experience with APIs, workflow engines, event-driven architectures, integrations, or distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of testing, observability, security, permissions, and failure recovery.
