Job summary

Heidelberg Materials Digital Hub Wrocław seeks a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to drive digital transformation of industrial applications. You will develop, modernize, and maintain an app that collects sensor data from production plants and provides reporting for local plant views worldwide.

Join a global team, work across Python and frontend technologies, and help shape architecture, testing, and deployment practices while leveraging AI to boost productivity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python development experience.
• 3+ years frontend technologies (Typescript/Angular/React).
• Experience with Grafana and Elastic Stack.
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres or MS SQL).
• Industrial/IIoT applications development experience.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

To advance on our goal to become the digital leader in the building materials industry, we are looking for a Senior Full stack Software Engineer who is passionate about digital transformation of a globally operating company. You will perform various software engineering tasks in one of our teams, working on an application which is collecting and distributing sensor data from our production plants and providing reporting and overview locally for the plants.

What will you do:

Join us in supporting a business-critical industrial application used across our cement plants worldwide. Your first months will focus on understanding the solution, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring its reliable operation, while gradually contributing to its future development and modernization..

• Write clean, reliable code and act as a technical role model within the team;
• Work with different frameworks in Python, Typescript/JS;
• Convert design drafts, mockups and textual descriptions into working UIs, applications;
• Advocate consistency and best practices in our code and architecture. Promote and follow the existing internal guidelines;
• Work together with stakeholders, product owners and other team members from various technical backgrounds to deliver high-quality solutions that help improve our business;
• Map business processes to data models or algorithms;
• Be pro‑active, persistent, and eager to deliver a great solution for a given problem;
• Consistently leverage AI in daily software development activities to improve productivity, accelerate delivery, and enhance solution quality in a cost-effective manner.

We are looking for these competencies:

• 5+ years of experience with Python;
• 3+ years of experience with Frontend technologies such as Typescript, Angular, React;
• 3+ experience with Grafana, Apache eCharts;
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres, Microsoft SQL or similar);
• Experience in Elastic Stack (Elastic Search);
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills;
• Experience with Ansible and GitLab;
• Experience in current software architecture patterns and technologies E.g., CI/CD, automated E2E testing, TDD, Docker;
• Experience in development of industrial/IIoT related applications;
• Experience in maintaining and refactoring critical legacy systems;
• Proficient in AI‑assisted development with strong prompt engineering and cost‑awareness.

What is beneficial:

• Familiarity with various IT protocols such as MQTT, HTTP Rest, JDBC, etc;
• Familiarity with various OT protocols such as OPC UA/DA/XDA, etc;
• Knowledge of Node-Red;
• Familiarity with industrial Automation systems as well as IIoT;
• Experience with Azure IIoT services;
• Expertise in multidisciplinary work with automation engineers, software engineers, mechanical engineers, etc.
