Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve secure developer platform capabilities using Python or TypeScript/JavaScript, GitHub Actions, Pulumi, Docker, AWS, and internal and third‑party APIs.
- Build and mature governed cloud development workspace capabilities, including secure workspace patterns using platforms such as Coder, devcontainers, approved base images, identity controls, secrets management, and controlled network access.
- Create reusable templates, documentation, reference implementations, and standardized paved‑road patterns that enable application teams to rapidly adopt secure, compliant development environments.
- Partner directly with software engineers and application teams to standardize development environments, streamline onboarding, and increase adoption of reusable platform capabilities.
- Continuously improve the developer experience by reducing environment setup time, eliminating repetitive manual work, standardizing engineering workflows, and making secure‑by‑default development practices easy to consume.
- Build operational excellence into owned platform services through monitoring, alerting, dashboards, runbooks, automation, and proactive support capabilities.
- Establish and continuously improve operational practices for developer platforms, including service ownership, platform lifecycle management, incident response, support models, and ongoing reliability improvements.
- Collaborate closely with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, and application engineering teams to translate security and technical requirements into practical, automated platform controls that minimize developer friction.
- Identify recurring developer pain points and transform them into reusable frameworks, platform tooling, engineering templates, and scalable paved‑road solutions.
- Support governed AI‑assisted software development by integrating approved Generative AI tools into secure development environments, reusable templates, documentation, and standardized engineering workflows.
- Contribute across the broader Builder Tools & Platforms portfolio, supporting initiatives spanning developer tooling, secure software delivery, internal engineering frameworks, platform automation, and enterprise engineering standards.
- Work across the full lifecycle of platform engineering—from architecture and design through implementation, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, production operations, developer enablement, and secure software delivery.
- Help transform emerging engineering needs into reliable, reusable, governed platform capabilities that enable Moderna’s Builders to innovate safely and at scale.
