Job summary

StepStone Group in Warsaw is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build innovative data products that help recruiters find the right talent. You will design and implement high-performance applications using Kafka while collaborating with cross-functional international teams.

This role is significant as you will directly power AI Search and ML models across multiple markets, contributing to reshaping the labor market for everyone.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building innovative data products that help recruiters find the right talent. You will design and implement high-performance applications using Kafka, while collaborating with cross‑functional international teams.

Your responsibilities

• Build and evolve data products that serve as the backbone for job listing data across Stepstone’s global platform
• Design and implement high-performance data pipelines using Kafka
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver impactful data engineering solutionsManage and improve ETL pipelines and data orchestration across a rich ecosystem of data sources
• Continuously improve and scale our data infrastructure to support a growing number of use cases and markets

Your skills and qualifications

• Proficiency in coding with Java
• Practical knowledge of Airflow or similar orchestration tools
• Experience working with Kafka (MSK)
• Strong knowledge of SQL
• Experience with Big Data, Data Warehousing, and ETL

Nice to have / you may also bring

• Experience with AWS services (Glue, EMR, ECS with Docker, Redshift, DynamoDB, S3)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
• Strong communication skills in English (B2+ level)
• A passion for data‑driven solutions that make a real impact
