Job summary

Alarm.com is building a new Krakow team and seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the HAX Automation Pod. You will lead backend development, partner with Product Management and QA, and mentor engineers while shaping architectural direction.

Focus will be on backend data, APIs, and automation features with scalable, reliable designs. You will work in a collaborative environment with strong cross-team interaction, contributing to a growing IoT/SaaS platform that spans web, mobile, and backend

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong backend engineering skills building HTTP APIs/services (REST/GraphQL).
• Deep knowledge of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Experience with C#, .NET Core is a plus.
• Solid database fundamentals and data modeling.
• Experience across modern and legacy codebases.
• Proficient with Git, CI/CD, JSON/YAML, and observability tooling.
• Experience designing scalable, reliable systems.

As a Senior Software Engineer ontheHAXTeam Automation Pod, you'll lead design and delivery of high-impactautomationfeatures end to end, from partnering with Product Management and Quality Engineering, mentoring engineers around you, to shaping technical direction in design reviews and architectural decisions. You'llfocus primarily onbackenddevelopment anddata, infrastructureforall ofour automation features including rules, schedules, and more.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and develop software for a wide variety of platforms and technologies.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?

• Bachelor’sinComputerScience, ComputerEngineering, a relatedfield orequivalentworkexperience

• 6+ years of professional software development experience

• Strong backend engineering skills building and maintaining HTTP APIs/services (REST and/or GraphQL)

• Deep working knowledge of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and common design patterns, with a track record of applying them to real architectural decisions (Experience with C#, .NET Core is a plus)

• Solid database fundamentals including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and migration strategy

• Contributedcomfortablyacross both modern and legacy framework codebases

• Fluency with the day-to-day toolchain of a modern engineer — version control (Git workflows), CI/CD, package managers, structured data formats (JSON, YAML), and observability tooling

• Experience designing reliable, scalable systems with attention to performance, resiliency, and maintainability

• Demonstrated testing depth across unit, integration, and end-to-end test layers

• Strong debugging and operational skills to diagnose and resolve production issues using logs, metrics, and traces

• Experience providing feedback to peers and influencing code quality through design and code reviews

• Track records of ramping intounfamiliarstacksandshippingproductionwork in them

• Treats engineering as acraft thatpursuesmasterythroughdeliberate practice,post-incidentlearning, andreflectionon pastdecisions;comfortablerevisitingandrevisingpriorarchitecturalchoiceswhen newinformationarrives
