Job summary

Kingfisher is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Software Engineering team in Kraków. This role involves building and maintaining automated testing solutions, ensuring quality is embedded into the platform, and collaborating closely with engineers throughout the development lifecycle.

About the role

We are looking for an experiencedQuality Engineer to join our Software Engineering team. As a Quality Engineer inthe Marketplace Team, you will help ensure quality is embedded intothe platform that empowersthird‑partymerchants to offer their products across our ecosystem.

You will work closely with engineers and stakeholders to integrate quality practices throughout the development lifecycle, contributing to testing approaches, automation, and continuous quality improvement to support reliable platform adoption.

Responsibilities

• Build andmaintainautomated testing solutions tovalidatethe quality of platform services and shared components.
• Perform manualcomponentandend-to-end testing
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of test automation approaches, frameworks, and standards.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and product stakeholders to ensure quality is considered throughout design, development, and delivery.
• Create and run automated tests at multiple levels, including API, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Ensure test coverage supports platform scalability, reliability, and long-term sustainability.
• Embed automated tests into delivery pipelines to providetimelyand reliable feedback.
• Identifypotential quality risks early, helping to prevent defects and improve overall platform stability.
• Support other engineers by sharing testing knowledge and promoting effective automation practices.

What you'll bring

• Strong experience in test automation using Java and/orKotlin, with hands-on use ofCucumberas a primary testing framework.
• Proven experience in API testing, including designing, implementing, andmaintainingautomated tests for RESTful services.
• Practical knowledge of tools and libraries used for API validation, e.g. rest-assured
• Experience or knowledge of event-driven architecture
• Solid understanding of software testing fundamentals, including test design, coverage, and early defect prevention.
• Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support fast and reliable feedback.
• Ability to work closely with backend engineers to ensure services are testable and quality is built in from the start.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach toidentifyingrisks and improving quality.
• Experience working in Agile environments, contributing to the continuous improvement of testing practices and tooling.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
