Job summary

SoftServe is seeking an experienced QA professional to contribute to a large-scale data platform modernization for a leading energy company. You will validate data integrity across Bronze to Gold layers, test Databricks pipelines, and develop both manual and automated tests using Python and QMetry.

Collaboration with data engineers and cross-functional Agile teams is essential. The role focuses on quality assurance for data migration, transformation validation, and BI reporting integrations

About The Role

In this role, you will contribute to a large-scale data platform modernization initiative for a leading energy company focused on renewable energy and nuclear operations. You will support quality assurance activities across complex data migration and transformation processes, helping ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance within a regulated environment. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will validate modern data solutions built on Databricks and Delta Lake while contributing to reliable and production-ready delivery outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform data migration testing, including source-to-target reconciliation and ETL validation
• Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across different stages of data processing
• Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases using Python and QMetry (or similar tools)
• Validate data transformations across the Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers of the Medallion Architecture
• Test ETL pipelines and data workflows within Databricks environments
• Identify, investigate, and document data quality issues, working closely with data engineers to resolve them
• Prepare and maintain test documentation, execution results, and defect reports
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality data delivery

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in software testing, preferably in data engineering, ETL, or data migration projects
• Strong experience with SQL, data validation, and source-to-target reconciliation
• Hands-on experience testing ETL pipelines and data transformations
• Experience with Python for test automation
• Familiarity with QMetry or similar test management tools
• Understanding of Databricks and layered data architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
• Experience validating Power BI or other BI reporting solutions
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms, preferably AWS
