Senior QA Automation Engineer - Microservices & API

Job summary

Seargin is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to ensure quality for a complex platform built around microservices, distributed systems and event-driven communication. This highly technical QA role focuses on test automation, API and integration testing, and end-to-end flows, working closely with DevOps, developers and product teams.

You will design, implement and maintain automated test frameworks, validate REST APIs and events, and participate in root cause analysis for production issues.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in QA / Software Testing with hands-on test automation.
• Proven experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
• Strong experience with API, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Practical experience testing microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience testing event-driven and asynchronous communication, preferably with Kafka.
• Good knowledge of SQL and databases, with data validation as part of testing.
• Programming/scripting experience, preferably C#/.NET.
• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including root cause analysis and production issue investigation.
• Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or Kanban).
• Ability to collaborate with development, DevOps and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites.
• Perform API, integration and end-to-end testing, not relying solely on UI.
• Test applications based on microservices and distributed architectures.
• Test event-driven and asynchronous workflows, including Kafka or similar messaging tech.
• Validate REST APIs, events, webhooks and other system-to-system communication.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases to validate data and system behavior.
• Investigate defects and production issues, perform root cause analysis and coordinate resolution.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes in containerized environments.
• Contribute to test strategy, design and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Developers, DevOps, Product Owners and other stakeholders to promote quality throughout the lifecycle.
• Continuously improve automation, testing processes and quality practices.
