Job summary

Luxoft in Kraków, Poland is seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer with 7+ years in Java to join a bank-wide cloud data platform project on Microsoft Azure.

You will design robust automated testing strategies, build scalable frameworks, and collaborate with data engineers, developers and QA to ensure quality across 50+ business units.

The role emphasizes CI/CD, SQL proficiency, and performance/security testing within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Automation Testing experience, preferably in Banking/FS.
• Strong Java backend testing and BDD experience.
• Automation design for cloud-native platforms on Azure is required.
• Solid SQL skills and experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Engineer robust test automation for a cutting-edge cloud data platform, ensuring it meets the complex data transformation needs of 50+ business tenants.
• Design and implement scalable, maintainable test frameworks that integrate seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines, accelerating delivery and reducing defects.
• Collaborate closely with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, validate functionality, and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Own end-to-end testing of new features—from defining test strategies and writing automated tests to analyzing results and driving continuous improvements.
• Champion engineering excellence by identifying opportunities to optimize test coverage, reduce manual effort, and enhance platform reliability.
• Communicate progress and risks effectively, contributing to a culture of transparency, quality, and innovation.

SKILLS

Must have

• 7+ years of experience in Automation Testing with Java, preferably in Banking and Financial Services domain.
• Solid Java Backend development and testing experience along with with behavior-driven development and AI-assisted test automation.
• Proven ability to design and implement robust automated test cases in cloud-based environments (preferably Microsoft Azure) based on user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Solid understanding of SQL.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, Git/GitHub/GitLab, and pipeline automation.
• Strong knowledge of performance testing, load testing, or security testing tools and methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience in debugging complex systems and developing scalable test automation solutions.
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to Kafka or other event streaming platforms is a plus.
