Job summary

StackAI is seeking a senior Python engineer to join the Core Engineering team and build security-critical backend systems that encrypt data, manage keys, and enforce tenant and authentication boundaries. The role focuses on producing reliable, production-grade code across hosted, VPC, and on-prem deployments.

This hands-on position requires deep Python expertise and strong judgment on trust boundaries, data protection, and secure software delivery in a fast-moving codebase.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Strong professional experience with Python in a substantial production codebase.
• Hands-on experience implementing and operating security-critical product systems, including the code that enforces their guarantees.
• Depth in at least one area: applied cryptography, trust boundaries, or secure delivery of sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Build encryption and key-management systems.
• Protect sensitive data across workflows, connectors, model calls, logs and storage.
• Secure customer credentials and access controls.
• Strengthen product trust boundaries including tenant isolation and authentication.
• Create shared security foundations with Python services and APIs.
• Plan and execute migrations, rollouts, observability, and rollback.
