Job summary

Software Mind in Warsaw, Poland, is hiring a Senior Python Software Engineer to design and build backend services for a data-intensive platform serving a UK-based insurer. You’ll work with senior engineers to deliver scalable REST APIs, data processing pipelines and cloud-native solutions.

You should have 5+ years of Python experience, strong SQL, and hands-on knowledge of AWS or Azure, Docker and CI/CD. The role offers remote options, international projects and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial Python development experience.
• Strong experience building backend applications and REST APIs.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building data-intensive applications or working with large-scale data processing.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing and clean code principles.

Project – the aim you’ll have

Our team works with a leading UK-based insurance company on solutions that help identify and reduce cyber risk.

The project focuses on building and evolving a proprietary data platform that processes large volumes of cybersecurity data. It enables scalable data ingestion, high-performance APIs and event-driven data processing, supporting products that help customers proactively manage cyber threats.

As a Senior Python Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing scalable backend solutions for a data-intensive platform. You'll work closely with experienced engineers to build reliable services, shape technical solutions, and contribute to the evolution of the platform and engineering practices.

In this role, you will:
