Job summary

SQUARE ONE RESOURCES sp. z o.o. in Warszawa is seeking a Senior / Staff Python Engineer to design, develop and scale backend services using Python. You will build APIs, containerized services and data-driven solutions with a focus on reliability and performance.

The role requires strong AWS know-how and experience with microservices and event-driven architectures, plus mentoring peers and contributing to architectural decisions across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial experience with Python and backend engineering.
• Experience designing and building scalable / distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of system architecture and technical design.
• Strong hands‑on AWS knowledge.
• Experience with cloud‑native architectures and technical trade‑offs.
• Ability to influence technical direction and engineering standards.
• Experience mentoring or coaching other engineers.
• Strong ownership mindset around reliability, maintainability and quality.
• Experience with microservices, event‑driven architectures and distributed systems will be highly relevant.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and maintaining scalable backend services and applications using Python.
• Building and integrating APIs, services and data-driven solutions with a focus on reliability and maintainability.
• Designing and implementing cloud-native solutions on AWS, including distributed and event-driven architectures.
• Contributing to technical design, architecture decisions and engineering standards across the development lifecycle.
• Collaborating with distributed engineering teams, supporting code quality through testing and reviews, and mentoring less experienced engineers.
