The Codest is an international tech software company with a strong focus on customers and people. We seek a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) with a Full-Stack mindset to join our AI-first engineering team and work on solutions for a leading financial group in Japan.

You will develop scalable backend systems, leverage Databricks, and contribute to frontend when needed. The role emphasizes robust architecture, cloud-native delivery, and collaboration across international teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of commercial Python backend development experience.
• Senior-level software engineering capable of independently designing, developing and delivering complex technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, REST APIs, distributed systems, and software design principles.
• Experience with cloud-based application development, preferably using AWS.
• Advanced English communication skills for collaboration with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Python.
• Build end-to-end software solutions leveraging Databricks, including backend components and integrations.
• Design and implement REST APIs and integrate backend systems with external services.
• Develop cloud-based solutions, primarily using AWS.
• Take ownership of technical solutions from requirements analysis through deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to frontend development when needed.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Explore opportunities to incorporate AI-driven automation into development processes.
• Build prototypes, validate concepts, and deliver scalable software.
• Participate in planning, reviews, and architectural discussions.
