Westinghouse Electric Company in Kraków is seeking a senior procurement professional to lead category and supplier management for assigned commodities. You will work to improve total cost, quality, delivery, and reliability while building strong cross-functional relationships.

The role requires a BA/BS with 4+ years in procurement; advanced Excel, ERP (SAP/Ariba), and PowerBI skills are preferred. Hybrid work in Poland with competitive base pay and potential bonuses are offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in negotiations including RFI, RFP, RFQ and contract development.

Responsibilities

• Own supplier relationships within assigned commodities.
• Segment spend into subcommodity groups to create levers for cost optimization.
• Maintain commodity strategy to meet organizational goals by reducing total cost.
• Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities in the commodity strategy.
• Negotiate long-term agreements with year-over-year improvements in cost, delivery, quality.
• Review business data from PowerBI to derive spend insights.
• Support SRM reviews with suppliers and senior leadership.
• Create presentations for supplier reviews and risk mitigation proposals.
• Support plans to meet metrics on payment terms, on-time delivery, productivity, and inflation.
• Monitor industry trends to identify innovation opportunities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Procurement.

You will lead category and operational management for assigned commodities. You will take direction from the Senior Category Specialist and work to improve total cost, quality, delivery, and reliability to reach organizational goals. Strong relationship skills are required to manage internal and external suppliers to accomplish the role goal.

Key Responsibilities

• Primary relationship owner for suppliers within assigned commodities.
• Manage the segmentation of assign spend into subcommodity groups to create levers to achieve operational excellence
• Maintain an overall commodity strategy to meet organizational goals by improving Total Cost
• Take an ownership (TCO) while securing supply continuity through identifying and mitigating current and potential risks and opportunities in the commodity strategy
• Build commodity strategy by supply base “right-sizing” and business awards with Long Term
• Agreements (LTA) with year over year improvements in cost, delivery, quality, service, and profitability
• Review business analysis from PowerBI and other tools to create insights into the drivers of assign commodity and possible effects to spend projections to use as levers with our supply base
• Support regular business reviews (SRM) with important and strategic suppliers with teams and senior leadership
• Create presentations for supplier relationship management reviews, commodity strategies, risk mitigation proposals, 4-Blockers, and supplier/commodity gap analysis.
• Support the plan to deliver annual results against metrics of payment terms, on-time delivery, productivity, inflation, and other metrics as determined by Procurement Leadership
• Research, track, and communicate industry trends, best practices, applicable indices, and competitive offerings to identify opportunities for innovation, competitive advantage, and increased overall productivity
• Develop a productive working relationship with peers on other teams: Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Procurement
  
  

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required (Preferably MBA or MS in any field of engineering)
• Minimum 4 years of procurement experience (preferably within industries with complex engineering, procurement, and construction projects, with a focus on procurement)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in negotiations including RFI, RFP, RFQ and contract development
• Well developed Negotiating, Benchmarking, Market Analysis, Competitive Intelligence, and Procurement Projects Management skills
• Experience with vendor management including purchase order issuance, execution, and administration
• Previous experience analyzing and drawing conclusions from quantitative data
• Ability to engage at all organizational levels and cultivate and sustain high quality professional relationships
• Strong problem-solving skills along with time-management, prioritizing, planning
• Competence maintain long term productive relationship with suppliers (SRM)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Access, Project, and Visio
• ERP system or similar system experience in a global environment is beneficial (SAP & Ariba)

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be 9250 PLN to 11600 PLN gross per month. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
