Job summary

IFS is seeking a hands-on Senior Principal Platform Lead to own the Internal Developer Platform and drive its strategy at enterprise scale. You will set the direction, build golden paths, and ensure adoption across NGA and IFS product teams.

This greenfield role requires shipping production AI-enabled platforms and communicating complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders. A deep Kubernetes background and platform leadership are essential.

Qualifications

8+ years in platform, infra, or developer-tooling engineering.
End-to-end IDP or developer portal ownership.
Enterprise-scale platform delivery experience.
Hands-on depth in Kubernetes, GitOps, and IaC.
Strong communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Own the IDP vision, roadmap, and end-to-end execution at IFS, service catalogue, self-service scaffolding, golden paths, CI/CD integration, and developer portals.
Own the developer experience vision for the Nexus platform, from service creation through to production observability.
Collaborate across Kairos, Nexus, Auth, Base Tech, and product teams to deliver cohesive developer experiences.
Define platform standards that make the right way the easy way, not mandated, just better.
Drive adoption metrics: onboarding time, self-service completion, platform NPS, time-to-first-deployment, and Dora metrics.
Integrate authentication and authorization services into the IDP self-service model.
Partner with IAM, infrastructure, and SRE to ensure a coherent, reliable surface.
Mentor Principal and Senior platform engineers; raise the bar on DX at IFS.
