Job summary

Wipro IT Services Poland Sp. z o.o. in Gdańsk is seeking a PostgreSQL Database Administrator to manage mission-critical production databases. You will implement replication, HA, backups, and performance tuning in a hybrid work setup from Gdańsk.

The role requires 5–8 years of PostgreSQL experience, strong Linux/Windows know-how, and hands-on work with tools like Pgadmin, Pgbadger, Slony, Pgpool and Pgbouncer.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of PostgreSQL database administration experience.
• Experience with monitoring, maintaining mission-critical 24/7 databases.
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL architecture and HA solutions.
• Experience installing/configuring PostgreSQL on Linux/Windows.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production PostgreSQL databases with focus on availability.
• Implement replication using streaming, cascading, and logical methods.
• Design and operate HA setups for PostgreSQL (EDB/EFM or similar).
• Handle backups and PITR, including WAL archiving and restores.
• Use tooling for auditing and performance tuning of clusters.
• Upgrade/migrate PostgreSQL versions and manage clusters.
