Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a seasoned Platform/DevOps engineer to own core platform components and multi-account AWS governance. You will design IaC, establish secure defaults, and lead cross-team platform improvements across clusters, networking, and observability.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with Terraform at scale, EKS/ECS, and strong IAM expertise, plus CI/CD and containerization across Azure/AWS/GCP environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience as a platform/DevOps/cloud engineer.
• Multi-account AWS in production (Organizations, SCPs, landing zone).
• Deep AWS IAM understanding (roles, policies, permissions boundaries, cross-account access).
• Terraform at scale in production environments.
• Production EKS/ECS experience with 100+ workloads.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain core platform components (SSO, Access Management, clusters, networking, CI/CD, observability).
• Own Terraform modules, baseline configurations, and guardrails for distributed teams.
• Design and evolve platform golden paths with secure defaults, templates, and standards.
• Maintain platform IaC (Terraform, modules, state design, multi-account governance).
• Integrate with team-owned CDK stacks through stable platform contracts.
• Lead evolution of platform abstraction layers and service catalogs.
• Design and manage multi-account AWS landing zone (Orgs, SCPs, permissions boundaries).
• Own developer onboarding patterns (IAM SSO access, automation, pipelines). Build safe cross-account deployment workflows (GitHub OIDC, least privilege).
• Design and operate ECS and EKS clusters used by hundreds of services.
• Establish best practices for container execution, networking, autoscaling.
• Manage central networking components (VPC, TGW, Route53).
• Ensure secure east–west communication between workloads in different accounts.
• Provide self-service tools and templates for teams (pipelines, service definitions, actions).
• Own documentation, workshops, patterns, and architectural guidance.
• Operate and evolve platform-wide logging, metrics, and tracing systems.
• Ensure operational standards for platform components.

What You Bring

• Extensive proven hands‑on experience as a platform / DevOps / cloud engineer
• Multi-account AWS in production (Organizations, SCPs, landing zone)
• Deep AWS IAM understanding (roles, policies, permissions boundaries, cross‑account access)
• Deep Terraform used at scale in an actual role
• Production EKS and/or ECS experience running 100+ workloads
• Ability to design scalable and highly‑available architecture in the the cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Experience with running and operating software in production at scale
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines allowing everyday releases
• Knowledge of Git
• Cloud‑native approach
• Hands‑on experience with container orchestration Kubernetes
• Coding experience in several languages (eg. TypeScript, Java, Kotlin, Python, Bash)
• Experience in setting up monitoring and logging tools (Elk stack, azure insights, Kibana)
• Infrastructure as Code and automation (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
• Experience with API Gateways
• Cloud and network security
• Effective with writing clean documentation
• Experience with design thinking methodologies
• Cloud based software architecture and solutions
• Agile/Scrum philosophies and methods
