Job summary

SentinelOne is seeking an Offensive Security Researcher to proactively study the latest attack techniques and help shape future cyber defense. You will work with top researchers to improve detection engines and contribute to a leading endpoint security product used by tens of millions of endpoints worldwide.

The role emphasizes deep malware understanding, code development in Python and C/C++, and collaboration with Threat Intelligence to close detection gaps.

Qualifications

• Multiple years of security research experience with deep OS internals knowledge (Windows and/or Linux).
• Hands-on coding experience in Python and C/C++.
• Deep understanding of malware operation, families, evasion and exploitation techniques.
• Advantage: malware analysis (static/dynamic) and reverse engineering (x86/x64).

Responsibilities

• Proactively research and understand the internals of the newest attack techniques and exploits, and emulate these attacks to improve detection engines.
• Build tools to support detection assessments and develop automation for unconventional attacks and offensive frameworks.
• Collaborate with Threat Intelligence and detection teams to identify gaps in detection and visibility.

As an Offensive Security Researcher, you will be tasked with proactively researching the newest and most sophisticated attack techniques and working closely with some of the best security researchers in the industry to shape the future of cyber security. You will bring curiosity, persistence, and a drive to leave no stone unturned in the search for the next bypass. What Will You Do?

Primary responsibilities include:

• Proactively research and deeply understand the internals of the newest and most sophisticated attack techniques and exploits, and emulate these attacks to assess and improve our detection engines (incl. designing detections and writing behavioural detection signatures).
• Build tools to support detection assessments, create proofs of concept for the newest techniques and exploits, and develop automation flows to automate unconventional attacks and offensive frameworks.
• Work closely with the Threat Intelligence team and the research and engineering detection teams to provide guidance and highlight gaps in detection and visibility capabilities.

What Skills and Knowledge Will You Bring?

Ideal candidates will have:

• Multiple years of experience in security research, or offensive research, with a deep understanding of OS internals (Windows and/or, preferably, Linux).
• Hands-on experience coding in Python and C/C++.
• Deep understanding of the malware world, including how malware operates, well-known malware families, and evasion and exploitation techniques.
• An advantage would be: experience in malware analysis, both static and dynamic, and reverse engineering (x86/x64),understanding of existing antivirus internals,experience writing behavioural detection signatures.
