Hitachi Energy Services SP. Z O.O. in Krakow, Poland is seeking an experienced R&D Software Developer focused on .NET to design, develop and maintain high-performance real-time software for power infrastructure applications.

You will work with global teams to build secure, scalable back-end services, implement microservices with Kubernetes/Helm, and ensure code quality through tests and reviews. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of senior software development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in .NET stack: C#, REST, .NET Core.
• Strong knowledge of building secure, high-performance real-time apps.
• Experience with microservices, CI/CD and code reviews.
• Familiarity with industrial protocols and power-grid related standards is a plus.
• Fluent in English; strong communication and collaboration skills.

Job Description: The opportunity We are seeking an experienced R&D Software Developer focused on .NET application development to join our technology organization. In this role, you will develop, high-performance, and secure software systems built with .NET technology, with a strong focus on real-time behavior, reliability, and long product lifecycle support. As an R&D Software Developer within the Grid Automation domain, you will help shape innovative solutions for the power systems of tomorrow. You will work closely with global technology teams that bring niche expertise and cutting-edge capabilities. Your work will directly support the development of real-time software used in critical infrastructure worldwide software designed for long-term reliability, high efficiency, and uncompromising security. How you’ll make an impact:

• Achieve business goals through designing and developing code in the .NET technologies.
• Design, develop and maintain microservices architecture for back-end.
• Participate in code review.
• Troubleshooting and bug fixing for all issues discovered during E2E testing.
• Share your experience and skills with other team members.
• Proposing and elaborating with other team members on how to improve code quality, performance and stability.
• Work closely with Product Owner, QA engineers to ensure successful project delivery.

Your Background:

• University degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in senior technical roles.
• Advanced proficiency in .NET technology stack: C#, REST Web Services and .NET Core.
• Assure high code quality through unit tests and adherence to software development best practices like Clean Code, SOLID, and code reviews.
• Hands on knowledge in following areas: Git version control system Build management - Azure DevOps Pipelines, MSBuild, Docker / podman Kubernetes + Helm SQL database knowledge Demonstrate understanding of the concepts API Development and Consumption. Practical knowledge of Kafka and C++ development in plus.
• Demonstrated experience with performance profiling, optimization, and low-latency systems.
• Understanding of software architecture principles and secure, scalable system design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
• Good understanding of unit and integration testing techniques and testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, security).
• Practical experience developing systems for power grid management and monitoring.
• Understanding of power grid operations and applicable standards.
• Experience with industrial automation systems (SCADA, IED, RTU) in plus.
• Experience with industrial protocols and standards (IEC-60870-5-104, DNP3, OPC UA, IEEE C37.118) in plus.
• Practical experience working directly with power grid industry clients.
• Proven ability to translate customer requirements into clear technical designs.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
