Job description

We are looking for a Senior .NET Backend Engineer with strong experience in C# and the .NET ecosystem (.NET Core / .NET 6/7) to join our team. The ideal candidate has a solid track record in building scalable backend applications using REST APIs and microservices, with deep expertise in MS SQL Server and clean code principles. You will play a key role in driving code quality, mentoring team members, and contributing to architecture decisions in a collaborative, Agile environment.

Essential functions

Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team, including conducting code reviews and fostering a culture of excellence in software development practices

Write high-quality, maintainable code for critical components, features, or modules of the software application, while also contributing to the overall codebase and enforcing coding standards and best practices

Analyze and solve complex technical problems, including performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and system failures, through systematic debugging, root cause analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams

Refactoring and improving the existing codebase to enhance maintainability, extensibility, and readability

Create and maintain technical documentation

Qualifications

Strong experience with C# and the .NET platform (.NET Core / .NET 6/7)

Proven background in building backend applications (REST APIs, Web APIs, microservices architecture)

Solid understanding of relational databases, especially MS SQL Server – including complex queries, stored procedures, performance optimization, and database design

Strong command of object-oriented programming (OOP) and familiarity with design patterns and clean code principles

Hands-on experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., xUnit, NUnit) and a test-driven development mindset

Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions (nice to have)

Would be a plus

Working knowledge of Java – useful for cross-team collaboration or legacy system support

Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or TypeScript – enabling support in full-stack scenarios

Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
