Job summary

Syneos Health is seeking a Principal Medical Writer / Sr Principal Medical Writer – Sponsor-dedicated to join our Clinical Solutions team. You will lead complex medical writing deliverables, coordinate with study teams, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and AMA style.

You will mentor junior writers, engage with clients, and contribute to internal process improvements while advancing scientific communication across multiple document types and therapeutic areas.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of relevant experience in science, technical, or medical writing.
• Extensive experience in biopharmaceutical, device, or CRO industry.
• Advanced understanding of FDA/ICH regulations and good publication practices.
• Proven ability to write multiple document types with high quality.
• Strong command of English grammar and AMA style.

Responsibilities

• Leads complex medical writing deliverables, ensuring clear, accurate scientific content.
• Manages study-level documents and defines strategy with cross‑department coordination.
• Advises on data presentation and production strategies to meet client objectives.
• Leads team reviews, coordinates quality/editorial reviews, ensures source docs.
• Mentors less experienced writers and develops internal materials and processes.
• Interacts with clients and study teams to deliver writing deliverables.
• Reviews statistical plans and outputs for content and consistency.
• Participates in budgets, timelines, and bid projections for projects.
• Represents the writing department at meetings, conferences, and to clients.
