Job summary

Arup in Germany or Poland seeks an Associate/Lead Mechanical Engineer to shape energy-efficient data centres. You will lead mechanical design across all stages from concept to handover, focusing on precision cooling, HVAC, and energy systems.

You will mentor engineers, drive digital workflows using Revit MEP/BIM, CFD, and hydraulic studies, coordinate with clients and authorities, and promote sustainable, innovative solutions across global teams.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering with leadership experience in mission-critical mechanical systems.
• Deep expertise in precision cooling and mission-critical mechanical design across lifecycle stages.
• Knowledge of German codes and HOAI, RIBA, and hyperscale delivery.
• Experience with digital design workflows (Revit MEP / BIM, CFD, hydraulic studies).
• Fluent English; good German (B1) or Polish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for mechanical systems on data centre projects.
• Lead client engagement translating objectives into design solutions.
• Oversee design quality and deliverables for compliance and coordination.
• Coordinate across stakeholders and present solutions.
• Develop people and standards, mentoring engineers and driving efficiency.
