Job summary

ASBIS is expanding its internal IT department and seeks a Linux Engineer to design, build, and maintain a scalable infrastructure for ERP and websites. You will administer Linux servers, troubleshoot incidents, and automate routine tasks with Bash and Python while participating in upgrades and runbooks.

The role emphasizes Nginx/HAProxy configuration, backup management, and observability across multiple datacenter locations.

Qualifications

• Must have Linux administration skills at LPIC-1/CompTIA Linux+ level and solid Bash scripting ability.
• Strong CLI skills and Bash proficiency including pipes, redirection, grep, sed, awk.
• Experience managing users, groups, permissions, sudo, and SSH.
• Knowledge of systemd and journald for service and log management.
• Understanding of file systems, disks, partitions, LVM, and mount points.
• Structured troubleshooting approach; avoid random restarts; document steps.

Responsibilities

• Administer Linux servers across multiple datacenter locations.
• Troubleshoot incidents (services failing, capacity issues, network problems).
• Configure and maintain Nginx and HAProxy, including SSL/TLS management.
• Automate routine tasks with Bash and Python – minimize manual work.
• Participate in system upgrades and create runbooks for operations.
• Manage backup processes, configurations, recovery tests, and documentation.
