Job summary

Fool’s Theory in Bielsko‑Biała is seeking a Lighting Artist with 5+ years in the gaming industry to contribute to The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past expansion, made with CD PROJEKT RED.

You will create dramatic lighting, ensure photorealism, maintain visual style, and collaborate with Designers, Programmers and Tech Artists to deliver assets on schedule. English fluency is required, and remote work is possible.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years experience in the role of Lighting Artist in the gaming industry.
• Experience in AAA production.
• Excellent knowledge of lighting tools and pipelines.
• Excellent knowledge of direct and indirect light, luminance, color theory, and composition.
• Solid knowledge of the technical and performance limitations of real-time lighting.
• Self-driven to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of quality.
• Ability to easily cooperate with others.
• Refraining from using AI generative tools to produce imagery for this job.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Creating dramatic and compelling lighting for photorealistic rendering.
• Using light to establish depth and layering in a scene.
• Using light to enhance environmental storytelling.
• Deconstructing lighting and textures in a physically based renderer to match color values.
• Keeping art style consistent with the game's visual style.
• Collaborating with Designers, Programmers and Technical Artists.
• Ensuring lighting deliverables meet the production schedule.
• Producing and maintaining documentation to support asset production.
