AFRY Management Consulting in Oxford (hybrid), with offices across Europe, seeks a Senior Lead Developer to design, build, and evolve AFRY's data intelligence platform. You will own technical solutions, drive best practices, and mentor the development team.

The role combines hands-on coding with technical leadership across .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core and React, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure software and modern DevOps pipelines.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Software Developer in enterprise SaaS or data-driven environments.

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior .NET Software Developer to join our Energy Intelligence and Digital Solutions team. This is a key role for a senior professional who combines hands‑on development expertise with technical leadership and mentoring capabilities.

As a Senior Lead Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and evolving AFRY's data intelligence platform and digital products. You will be expected to take ownership of technical solutions, drive development best practices, and support the growth and effectiveness of the development team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable software solutions using .NET, C#, and modern web technologies.
• Have front‑end experience using ReactJS.
• Support in the software architecture decisions and ensure solutions are maintainable, secure, and aligned with long‑term business objectives.
• Establish and promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and development processes.
• Support the continuous improvement of development methodologies, tools, and ways of working.
• Contribute hands‑on throughout the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment and support.
• Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies and innovative approaches that improve delivery, quality, and business value.
• Support the development of the team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to other developers.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Software Developer, preferably within enterprise, SaaS, platform, or data‑driven environments.
• Strong expertise in .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, and modern software engineering practices.
• Solid experience with frontend technologies, preferably React.
• Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and supporting other developers through mentoring and coaching.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud‑based applications, and scalable system design.
• Experience working with relational databases and data management solutions, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
• Excellent problem‑solving capabilities and the ability to make sound technical decisions in complex environments.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Azure cloud services and modern DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of data platforms, analytics solutions, and data engineering concepts.
• Experience working in agile product development environments.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Python, Node.js, JavaScript frameworks, and modern CI/CD pipelines.

We are looking for someone who can strengthen the team's delivery capability by actively developing solutions while also guiding more junior team members, raising engineering standards, and helping shape the future direction of our platform.

This role is particularly suited to a senior developer who enjoys being hands‑on, leading by example, and enabling a team to deliver high‑quality products at scale. We are seeking an individual with proven experience operating at a senior level and who can immediately contribute through strong technical expertise, execution capability, and leadership.

Location

This role is ideally based in our Oxford office, where the wider Software Development team is located. However, we are also open to candidates based in one of AFRY's European offices, provided they can work effectively with the team and stakeholders across our international organisation.
