Job summary

AFRY is seeking an experienced Senior .NET Software Developer to join the Energy Intelligence and Digital Solutions team. You will design, build, and evolve our data intelligence platform, taking ownership of technical solutions and guiding the development team.

Based in Oxford or another AFRY European office, this hybrid role combines hands-on coding with leadership, mentoring junior developers, and driving best practices across the SDLC to deliver scalable, secure software.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Software Developer in enterprise or data-driven environments.
• Strong use of .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core and modern practices.
• Solid frontend experience with React.
• Proven track record leading technical initiatives and mentoring.
• Knowledge of software architecture, cloud-based apps, scalable design.
• Experience with MS SQL Server.
• Degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of scalable software solutions using .NET, C#, and modern web technologies.
• Have front-end experience using React.
• Support in the software architecture decisions and ensure solutions are maintainable, secure, and aligned with long-term business objectives.

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior .NET Software Developer to join our Energy Intelligence and Digital Solutions team. This is a key role for a senior professional who combines hands-on development expertise with technical leadership and mentoring capabilities. As a Senior Lead Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and evolving AFRY's data intelligence platform and digital products. You will be expected to take ownership of technical solutions, drive development best practices, and support the growth and effectiveness of the development team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable software solutions using .NET, C#, and modern web technologies.
• Have front-end experience using ReactJS.
• Support in the software architecture decisions and ensure solutions are maintainable, secure, and aligned with long-term business objectives.
• Establish and promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and development processes.
• Support the continuous improvement of development methodologies, tools, and ways of working.
• Contribute hands-on throughout the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment and support.

• Experience as a Senior Software Developer, preferably within enterprise, SaaS, platform, or data-driven environments.
• Strong expertise in .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, and modern software engineering practices.
• Solid experience with frontend technologies, preferably React.
• Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and supporting other developers through mentoring and coaching.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud-based applications, and scalable system design.
• Experience working with relational databases and data management solutions, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to make sound technical decisions in complex environments.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Azure cloud services and modern DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of data platforms, analytics solutions, and data engineering concepts.
• Experience working in agile product development environments.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Python, Node.js, JavaScript frameworks, and modern CI/CD pipelines.

We are seeking an individual with proven experience operating at a senior level and who can immediately contribute through strong technical expertise, execution capability, and leadership.

Location

This role is ideally based in our Oxford office, where the wider Software Development team is located. However, we are also open to candidates based in one of AFRY's European offices, provided they can work effectively with the team and stakeholders across our international organisation.
