Job summary

Pragmatike is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a fully remote EU-timezone team. You will operate Linux-based infra, deploy and scale Kubernetes clusters across bare-metal and virtualization, and oversee upgrades, networking, and security hardening.

Responsibilities include automation with Ansible, Bash/Python, and GitOps; maintain observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Loki); lead incident response across timezones; and design SOPs for repeatable ops.

Qualifications

Expert-level, hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production environments.
Strong network engineering skills (VLANs, L2/L3 routing, VPNs, multi-site connectivity).
Linux systems administration (Debian/Ubuntu).
Experience with automation workflows (Ansible, Bash/Python, Git).
Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Loki, Graylog).
Background with virtualization technologies (OpenStack, Proxmox, VMware).
Experience with MAAS (Metal as a Service).
Strong understanding of distributed systems and container orchestration.
Ability to develop SOPs and operational procedures from scratch.
Experience with incident response, escalation procedures, and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain Linux-based infra across environments.
Deploy, manage, and scale Kubernetes clusters (bare-metal, virtualized, on‑prem).
Oversee cluster upgrades, node pools, networking, storage, and security hardening.
Implement automation for provisioning and operations (Ansible, Bash/Python, GitOps).
Design and maintain networking architecture (VLANs, L2/L3 routing, VPNs, multi-site).
Build automated deployment workflows (PXE boot, Preseed, cloud-init).
Maintain observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana, Loki, ELK, Graylog).
Lead incident response and escalation across the platform.
Improve system availability and reduce latency.
Define and implement SLOs/SLIs across infrastructure levels.
Establish on-call schedules for multiple timezones.
Develop SOPs for repeatable ops and maintenance tasks.
Coordinate hardware maintenance and virtualization/orchestration layers.
Collaborate with dev teams to improve quality and resource utilization.
