Job summary

Ework Group is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a banking client. You will design, develop and enhance Java-based applications handling taxation, account management and investment processing across multiple countries.

Based in Warsaw, Gdańsk or Gdynia, you will work on a hybrid model (3 days in the office) under a B2B contract, collaborating with a skilled international team and utilizing modern Java technologies and OpenAPI.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java with experience in Spring ecosystems.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL.
• Knowledge of messaging with JMS and APIs using OpenAPI.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications for savings and investments products.
• Build robust calculation engines ensuring tax regulation compliance across countries.
• Develop support for complex business processes, integrating with tax authorities, and generating customer-facing reports.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with financial analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor other developers, acting as a code reviewer or design sparring partner and spreading best practices.
• Use AI-assisted development and automation to improve productivity, quality and learning.

Job description

Must-have knowledge and experience

• Strong proficiency in Java, especially Java 21 and related frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc.)
• Experience with relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Knowledge of messaging protocols such as JMS, MQ etc.
• Knowledge of OpenAPI and AsyncAPI for producing and consuming data
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming principles
