xBerry - R&D House in Poland is seeking an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join the Core Banking team. You will develop, modernize, and support mission-critical banking systems and integrations in a fast-paced financial environment.

The role requires Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and strong SQL with Oracle. You will work in a hybrid or remote delivery model, collaborating across teams and adhering to Agile practices.

Qualifications

Java 11/17+ with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
Microservices, REST API development, and REST/SOAP integrations.
JPA/Hibernate with Maven or Gradle.
Kafka and Event-Driven Architecture.
Oracle databases and advanced SQL.
HA distributed systems in production.
Experience in banking/financial environments.

Job description

On behalf of our financial sector client, we are looking for experienced Senior Java Engineers to join the Core Banking team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, modernization, and support of mission-critical banking systems and integrations.

Required Skills & Technologies

Strong expertise in Java 11/17+ and Spring Boot / Spring Framework
Hands‑on experience with microservices, REST API development, and REST / SOAP integrations
Proficiency with JPA / Hibernate and Maven or Gradle
Experience with Kafka (or similar messaging platforms) and Event-Driven Architecture
Solid knowledge of Oracle databases and advanced SQL
Background in high-availability (HA) distributed systems
Experience working in mission‑critical financial/banking production environments
Practical experience in Agile / Scrum methodologies
Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Nice To Have

Experience with Core Banking platforms: FLEXCUBE, Temenos, Finacle, Mambu, Thought Machine, or similar
Hands‑on involvement in Core Banking system migrations or transformations
Experience with Kubernetes / OpenShift and Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Git
Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
Understanding of industry standards and directives: ISO 20022, SWIFT MT/MX, PSD2 / Open Banking
