Job summary

Xebia Group, a global AI-first, digital transformation, and engineering partner, is seeking a Java backend developer in Poland. You will develop and maintain backend services with REST APIs, migrate Java 8 to newer versions, and design solutions using Java, Spring, and jOOQ within a multi-service platform that embraces asynchronous communication and Kafka-based messaging.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in Java development.
• Experience upgrading Java versions and migration from Java 8 to newer versions.
• Hands-on experience with Spring and Tomcat.
• Practical experience with jOOQ.
• Experience with JSF and PrimeFaces.
• Experience working with MS SQL.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Familiarity with GitHub repositories, CI processes, and code reviews.
• Practical experience using AI-powered assistants to improve productivity in software delivery.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of English (min. B2).

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining backend applications with a strong focus on REST API development.
• Participating in migration from Java 8 to newer Java versions, including Java 21/25.
• Designing and implementing solutions using Java, Spring, and jOOQ.
• Working with a platform consisting of multiple services communicating through REST APIs and evolving towards asynchronous communication.
• Working with Kafka and other messaging technologies as part of the platform's evolution.
• Contributing to CI/CD processes, code reviews, and maintaining high code quality.
• Collaborating with the team to improve existing systems and deliver new functionality.
