Job summary

Optiveum is seeking a Senior IT Test Automation Engineer to join a Swedish-culture global client. You will design and implement automated tests for APIs (REST/SOAP), data pipelines, and MDM solutions, building scalable frameworks and integrating with CI/CD pipelines.

Hybrid role in Poland (Warsaw/Tricity) with 3 days in the office. Expect 6+ years of hands-on Java test automation, strong REST/SQL skills, experience with Allure, Jira, and CI tools, plus mentoring and delivering high-quality test

Qualifications

• 6+ years in automated software testing in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on Java 17+ test automation experience with OOP/clean code.
• REST/RESTAssured, JUnit 5, Lombok proficiency.
• SOAP/WSDL, REST architecture understanding, Kafka and data pipelines.
• SQL and database testing, Allure/Jira/qTest for reporting.
• Git, CI/CD (Jenkins/Bamboo) and Agile/Scrum practices.
• Fluent English with strong communication; mentoring mindset.

Senior IT Test Automation Engineer

Location: Gdańsk, Gdynia, or Warsaw (Hybrid model: 3 days in the office)

Rate: Up to 120 PLN/h net + VAT

Form of employment: B2B Contract (signed directly with Optiveum)

About the role:

On behalf of our client, a leading international organization with a Swedish corporate culture, we are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer. In this role, you will support the development and maintenance of automated tests for Master Data Management (MDM) solutions. Your daily tasks will strongly focus on SOAP and REST API testing, database testing, integration testing, and the automation of backend and data distribution processes.

As a partner in your professional journey, Optiveum will be your recruitment agency and the direct contracting party for this B2B cooperation.

Your responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing automated tests for APIs, integration processes, and data flows.

• Developing, maintaining, and architecting scalable test automation frameworks following Clean Code practices and POJO design patterns.

• Creating regression tests and integrating them with CI/CD pipelines.

• Spearheading the “Automation First” approach within the team.

• Collaborating closely with developers, analysts, Product Owners, and other MDM Agile Release Train (ART) teams.

• Analyzing test results, preparing test evidence, and delivering clear execution reports.

• Introducing and utilizing AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate testing coverage and reduce manual effort.

• Mentoring and supporting less experienced team members in test automation best practices.

Must-have requirements:

• 6+ years of proven experience in automated software testing, preferably in complex enterprise environments.

• Hands-on experience in test automation development using Java 17+, with strong knowledge of OOP and Clean Code principles.

• Practical experience with the core Java API testing stack: RESTAssured, JUnit 5, and Lombok.

• Solid understanding of REST architecture and SOAP/WSDL contracts.

• Experience in testing integration solutions (asynchronous flows, Kafka-based integrations, data pipelines, and event-driven architecture).

• Good knowledge of writing SQL queries and performing database testing.

• Experience with test reporting tools (especially Allure) and test management/defect tracking tools (qTest, Jira).

• Strong Git skills (branching strategies, PR workflows, code reviews) and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins and/or Bamboo).

• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum ceremonies, backlog refinement).

• Fluent English (B2/C1) with excellent communication skills to clearly explain testing scope, risks, and quality recommendations.

• Proactive mindset with a strong focus on business value and continuous improvement.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge and hands-on experience in UI testing using Selenium or Playwright.
