Job summary

Atlassian is seeking an experienced Senior Incident Responder to protect corporate and customer data across cloud and on-premises environments. You will lead security incidents, hunt for threats, and automate response using AI-assisted workflows while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes building playbooks, performing forensics, and driving improvements in incident readiness, with opportunities to influence secure coding practices and security architecture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security (operations, incident response, threat research, or engineering).
• Specialization in malware analysis, forensics, threat hunting, network analysis, or cloud endpoint analysis.
• Hands-on exposure to AI-assisted tools or workflows in incident response or security operations.
• Experience responding to incidents and conducting investigations.
• Fluency in programming languages (Python, Ruby, Java, or Go) or scripting.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience building and delivering projects from start to finish.
• Contributions to the security community or open source projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as an escalation point for security incidents, coordinating with stakeholders.
• Investigate log data from security events to identify signs of compromise and impact.
• Conduct post-incident reviews to analyze root causes and improvements.
• Participate in on-call roster for incident response.
• Deliver technical solutions to mitigate incidents and improve response capabilities.
• Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and SOPs.
• Lead evidence collection and forensic analysis during incidents.
• Conduct tabletop exercises to test incident readiness.
