Job summary

SOFTSWISS is seeking a Senior Go Developer to design and build scalable backend systems for our Sportsbook platform. You will shape architecture for a high-load, business-critical service and work closely with a cross-functional team.

You will review code, write clean tests, optimize performance, and apply best practices in Go, Linux, Docker, Kafka, and Kubernetes. Experience with betting products and data integrity is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• At least 4 years of Go as the primary language.
• Hands-on betting-related product experience is a must.
• Strong Go internals knowledge: data structures, multithreading, memory management, GC.
• Experience with relational databases and writing/optimizing complex SQL queries.
• Solid Linux knowledge and containerization experience (Docker).
• Ability to write testable code with unit tests.
• Experience with Kafka and Kubernetes.
• Russian language at Upper-Intermediate level.

SOFTSWISS Sportsbook

The SOFTSWISS Sportsbook is a software platform designed for launching and managing a successful online sports betting business. The Sportsbook team’s goal is to develop truly innovative software that will make the process of creating and running a bookmaker website faster and easier for our clients. We are searching for driven individuals who are passionate about what they do and are ready to work on engaging tasks and exciting projects together.

Purpose of the role:

You’ll design and build scalable backend solutions in Go, helping to shape the architecture of a high-load, business-critical system.

You’ll collaborate closely with the team, contribute to strategic technical decisions, and ensure code quality through thoughtful reviews and clean, testable implementation.

Your deep understanding of system internals, distributed architecture, and data integrity will drive reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborating within a team using the Scrum methodology and participating in planning your own workflow
• Engaging in architectural, infrastructure, and other strategic decision-making processes
• Conducting code reviews for other team members and documenting your own code

Required Experience:

• 7+ years of professional software development experience
• At least 4 years of recent programming experience with Go as the primary language
• Hands-on experience with betting-related products is a must
• Strong understanding of Go internals: data structures, multithreading, memory management, garbage collection, etc.
• Experience with relational databases, including the ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries
• Solid knowledge of Linux and an understanding of containerization (we use Docker)
• Ability to write testable code and corresponding unit tests
• Experience working with Kafka and Kubernetes
• Russian - Upper-Intermediate

Nice to have:

• Experience in developing applications in finance or other fields where data integrity is a key requirement
• Understanding the principles of distributed applications and microservice architecture
• Familiarity with one or more modern approaches to back-end application design (e.g., DDD, Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture)
