Job summary

GPC Global Technology Center in Kraków seeks a Principal Engineer for the Generative AI Innovation Hub. You will set technical direction for enterprise GenAI capabilities while remaining hands-on in architecture and development.

You will lead rapid experimentation, establish reusable standards, and partner with product, data, platform, and security teams to move high-value use cases from prototype to production.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with leadership.
• Experience designing, delivering, and operating AI/GenAI solutions in production.
• Advanced Python skills and strong software architecture knowledge.
• Hands-on GenAI patterns: retrieval, agentic workflows, model selection.
• Experience with cloud platforms, containers, CI/CD, and production observability.
• Ability to embed security, privacy, and responsible AI into designs.
• Proven ability to influence architecture across teams without formal authority.
• Strong communication skills to explain tradeoffs to tech and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Set and evolve technical strategy, reference architectures, and engineering standards for enterprise GenAI solutions.
• Architect and build prototypes and production services using Python, APIs, cloud platforms, and modern software practices.
• Lead evaluation of foundation models, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflows.
• Establish MLOps/LMLops practices for evaluation, testing, deployment, observability, and incident response.
• Embed responsible AI, data protection, security, and governance throughout delivery.
• Partner with business and product leaders to frame use cases and measure outcomes.
• Integrate GenAI capabilities with existing applications and data.
• Lead architecture reviews, mentor engineers, raise engineering quality.
• Monitor AI advances and drive adoption when value is evident.
• Promote disciplined experimentation with learning goals and gates.
